Ships from the Boston, MA area. Specimens are often tiny — switch to ounces for thumbnails and pool pulls. USPS bills a 1-lb minimum on Priority, so the lightest packet prices the same as 1 lb.
🥣 Bulk pools — how the big bowls work
Some finds are a pool, not a single piece — like our 633.8g UV-fluorescent bowl of 30-40 pieces. When you hold a pool cert, you own one small piece pulled at random from that bowl (a single fluorescent chunk, 1-2cm, 3-6g — never a big slab) — the whole bowl is never one cert. Every pull is weighed and photographed before it ships. Big quartz bowls work the same way: the pool stays in the treasury, chunks ship out one pull at a time.
🗺️ What we dig — and what we split
Common: smoky/clear quartz, muscovite mica books, feldspar, cleavelandite, apatite, pegmatite matrix pieces · Uncommon: beryl (including aquamarine), columbite, tourmaline, garnet, amethyst · Special handling: any UV-Fluorescent specimen remains unverified unless supported by certified lab data.
A 3-lb smoky quartz cluster isn't one specimen — it's a museum cluster AND six clean points AND a bag of small points. Splitting finds means more winners, more price tiers, more catalog spots filled. Small low-weight pieces carry the value — a thumbnail piece can outprice a 50 lb block.
